When shipping goods from one location to another, you want to ensure that the item is set up to arrive at the intended location without any problems. Making sure your products are properly labelled is one solution to improve this.
Let’s give you a typical scenario: You book a shipment on the Topship web app and you ask for this item to be picked up. We assign a rider, and then this item moves from one fulfilment centre to the other and one shipping port to the other, depending on the final destination.
Packages with incorrect or insufficient labels may be delivered to the wrong address or may attract delays at customs. These errors can harm your business’s reputation with customers and, in turn, hurt your bottom line.
To avoid the likelihood of your delivery getting lost or delayed, it is important to label your package before you schedule a pickup or drop it off at one of our many drop-off locations.
How do I label my package?
When you book a shipment on Topship, you are assigned a nine-digit tracking ID that typically starts with the letter T. You can find this on your web dashboard or in your booking confirmation email.
Here’s how it looks on the web dashboard
And here’s how it looks via email.
To properly label your package:
- First, write your name (name of sender) and the shipment tracking number on a clear sheet of paper
- Secondly, tape the paper to your package and ensure the text is visible and easy to read
This will help us identify your booking/item when it arrives at our hub and expedite the package processing time.
I can’t find my tracking number
If you’re unable to find your tracking number, simply write the name, phone number, and address of both the sender and receiver on a sheet of paper and tape it to the package.
